Our Principal / Director
Janet is an experienced advocate, having spent the majority of her 13+ years of service as a NSW Police Officer, working as a Prosecutor at the Downing Centre Local Court – the busiest court complex in NSW. The fast-paced, and high-pressured Downing Centre environment provided the perfect storm for Janet to develop and hone here advocacy skills and the interrogation of Police matters.
Janet has an in-depth understanding of police prosecution, procedure, methodology, investigation and brief preparation. This experience enables Janet to efficiently review and assess any police matter – quickly identifying weaknesses or exposures, and thus: placing her clients in the optimum position to secure the most advantageous result – fast.
Additionally, Janet is an experienced negotiator, and will always endeavour to progress and advance cases to achieve the best outcome for her clients in the most economical and effective way possible.

Winn Legal Solicitors on the Northern Beaches is a second-generation law firm. The original Winn Legal was founded in 2000 by Gai Winn.
As a young single mother of two, Gai was determined and driven to provide a better future for her family and achieve her innate ambition to truly be of help to those in need.
Winn Legal Solicitors is now run by Gai’s daughter, Janet Winn.
Janet has the same unwavering commitment, motivation and dedication as maintained by her hard-working mother, and continues successful practice management to uncompromising ethical, professional and moral standards.
